Miraculous Indeed

Hey, Kristin here! I know I’ve blogged about Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish before (spoiler alert: it’s the shit) but I’m super impressed by my current manicure Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish in “Combustealble” (which is an awkward and stupid color name). My nails are completely wrecked because I had acrylics removed, but you’d never know it!

The whole “system” is a color coat and a clear coat which basically cure like a faux gel mani, but I like to hit it with Seche Vite on top of the clear coat. It makes it shinier and dries it fast so that my clumsy ass doesn’t ruin a perfectly good manicure.

So basically posting about this same product and color again because I’m stoked about my nails. 💅✨💖

What’s on your nails? Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Violet Flicker

Every now and then, my hubby will bring home a nail polish for me, especially if he sees a cool one on sale.  It’s incredibly sweet!  Yesterday, he grabbed Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Violet Flicker – which after I did some googling, turns out to have been from their Hunger Games Catching Fire Capitol Collection.  Well, of course, I gave him a big ol’ smooch and major husband kudos.

Violet Flicker is a violet-berry polish with a glass fleck shimmer of magenta and blue.  It’s extremely unique to anything I have in my collection.  I absolutely love the blue reflects!  It’s pretty sheer with one coat.  Two coats will do, but three thin coats turned out to be absolutely stunning.  I topped it with Poshè fast dry top coat and it just glistens.

I absolutely think they are trying to dupe the Chanel nail polish bottles here.  Fine with me!

The formula of this nail polish is excellent.  I found it easy to apply without flooding my cuticles and it levels itself out nicely.  The brush is shorter and wider than I normally like, but I have tiny nails and go for tiny brushes (think Essie and Zoya).  The wide cap is a little awkward to use, but I managed ok.  Since I’m just ok day 2 of wear, we’ll consider this a first impression.  ðŸ™‚

This polish formula is 5-free, which I totally appreciate!  I’m trying to at least stick with 3-free because of fumes and migraines, etc.  This polish is a little stinkier than my Zoya, but it’s pretty enough to open a window.  ðŸ™‚

These polishes are marked down to around $2.50 at Target!

Wow, sloppy paint job, but I’m not redoing a whole manicure over a couple flooded cuticles, LOL!  Isn’t this an amazing deep wine shade?  It has a gold metallic Pearl running through it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Thanks for being along for the ride – we are a brand new blog and growing slowly and we really appreciate your support!

What’s on your nails? Do you lilac it?

Today, I have a nice mixture of spooky and sweet going on – my claw midi ring and this lovely cool pastel purple nail polish, OPI’s “Do You Liliac It?”

I used Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover (blue gel of the gods), Nailtiques #2 as a base coat, two coats of the OPI color, and Poshe quick drying top coat.  Honestly, this color had plenty of shine without the top coat!
