Quick nail post! I love this Zoya matte polish in “Posh,” because it’s not totally flat – it has this interesting velvety finish. I did a terrible job around my cuticles because I was painting my nails in the dark by this sad little lamp while my husband was asleep, LOL!

I got over a foot cut off my hair! OMG!
That’s right, you guys…I did it!
After something like 4-5 years of long hair, earlier this year I had 6 inches cut off. That took me from hip length to waist length. Here I am at my longest length at the beginning of 2015:
I was also dying my hair a lighter brown shade. I went from that length to a more manageable length between bra strap length and waist and stayed there until just last week. However, that 6 inch loss of length didn’t really help with my chronic neck pain and migraines, so I finally decided last week to “take a load off.”
At my hair salon I found out something awesome – I was cutting enough length that I could donate to a wig charity! AWESOME! I didn’t set out originally to do this, but I always thought it was such a great idea. Here I am with my 14 inch braid!!
Even with having a 14 inch lop, I still have a long bob. I love the way my stylist razored the ends a bit! It looks best straightened, so I will have to find the very best heat protectant (suggestions welcome – I have very fine and limp hair).
It’s amazing how much easier things are now! Washing hair is easier. I don’t have to put it up in a clip when I condition it in the shower (which weighs a ton). I don’t have to wait 6 hours for it to dry (awful in the winter). My husband doesn’t roll over on it at night! My cats don’t sleep on it. It doesn’t land in my food, get caught in my coat, purse strap, seat belt…I could go on, but you get my point. Best thing is, I think it is helping the slightest bit with neck pain. I will always get migraines, but at least I won’t have ten pounds of hair to wrangle while I have them.
I may grow it out again if my headaches get better – I mean, why not donate again? It’s free to grow and a renewable resource! So, who knows. 🙂
I haven’t sent my hair yet, but I think I have my choices narrowed down to Wigs For Kids, Pantene Beautiful Lengths, or Children With Hair Loss. I’ll come back and update what I decide.
Have any of you ever donated your hair?

Sinful Colors Halloween 2015 Nail Wrap Stickers
So, I’ve been having migraines and haven’t posted much, but here’s something fun I did today – Sinful Colors put out these nail sticker wraps this year for Halloween and they’re only $1.99 at Target! These were easy to put on and yay, no nail polish fumes! I think I need more wraps!

The spider webs glow in the dark! SQUEE!
What’s on your nails this Haloween season?
Fall Wedding Guest Look
I went to the wedding of my husband’s nephew yesterday – it rained so it was moved indoors, but the venue was this gorgeous rustic country setting and so beautiful and cozy. I actually wore the Little Black Dress I eloped in a few months ago (love this thing) with a purple cardigan to jazz up a grey day, along with a vintage aurora borealis brooch that belonged to my grandmother. Aw! I coordinated some purple makeup and was good to go.
Purple makeup look features Urban Decay Bittersweet blush and MAC Up The Amp lipstick with MAC Mega Metals eye shadows in Mating Call, Noir Plum, and Dandizette

What’s on your hands? Zoya Daul nail laquer and ethical bling
I recently made a purchase to go with my wedding band that I’m pretty happy with – a pave set band of Charles & Colvard Moissanite to wear when I want some sparkle. Moissanite is a lab stone that has none of the ethical concerns of diamond mining/blood diamonds and are incredibly affordable compared to comparable diamonds. I can wear my sparkle guilt free, and if something happens to the ring, I won’t cry for weeks and weeks! I think this sits nicely with my wedding band. Stacking rings are a trend I’m loving at the moment.
Nail polish is “Daul” by Zoya.
Transition to fall makeup with MAC Rebel Lipstick
When the weather starts to change, I start to change up my makeup a bit. I start to wear more dramatic lip colors and often reach for plums, berries, burgundies, and wines. MAC Rebel is a lipstick in their permanent collection that is perfect for when the days just start getting shorter and the leaves are just starting to drop.
Face: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer on t-zone (this is an experiment to see if this behaves badly with my foundation, which is water based), MAC Face and Body Foundation (2/3 N1 mixed with 1/3 White), NYX HD Concealer in Porcelain around nose and under eyes (I am now rationing my NARS concealer, ha!), MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC15 on random pigmented spots, face set with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and a puff to set and mattify, NYX HD Blush in Taupe to contour, MAC Mineralized Blush in Gentle, no highlight needed with dewy foundation and shimmery blush.
EYES: Urban Decay Primer Potion, MAC eye shadows in Shroom and Satin Taupe, L’Oreal Super Slim liquid liner black, Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara black (I could not use Too Faced Better Than Sex for another day….ugh…more on that later), It Cosmetics Brow Power pencil
LIPS: NYX Lip Liner in Deep Purple, MAC lipstick in Rebel
WOW this lighting washes me out. We got new light bulbs. Not sure I’m a fan!
What’s on your nails? Sinful Colors Bleeding Heart and my wedding band! <3
So, as you know, my husband and I eloped and had a courthouse wedding a few weeks ago! Here’s a snapshot of my wedding ring. It’s a palladium band that’s handmade and hand engraved, from Aurell. I am wearing my favorite “holy grail” red nail polish, Sinful Colors Bleeding Heart.
Glad to be back!
Well, Kristin is still out at Burning Man and I’m still recovering from being sick, but I’m so glad to be back on the blog! It’s been nice to relax as a newly married old lady (heh), even if I have felt like crap, ha! It feels even better to put my face on and feel like “me!” I’ve also been experimenting with layering my necklaces. I’m wearing 2 wax seal pendants from Plum and Posey and a hummingbird skull pendant from Skeletos; both sellers can be found on Etsy.
FACE: MAC Studio Fix Fluid NW10, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly, MAC Set Powder in Invisible, NYX HD Blush in Taupe to contour, Benefit Dandelion Blush, Guerlain Meteorites in Clair
EYES: Bobbi Brown Cream Eyeshadow in Bone, Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Skimp, Bordello, and AC/DC(Feminine Palette), L’Oreal Super Slim Liner Black, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Ebony, Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara black
LIPS: Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft

Last night was our local goth-industrial dance night and I decided to really do something interesting with my makeup, since I have been wearing lighter fare for the daytime regularly (taupe shadows and mauve lips have been my thing lately). Bobbi Brown Cream Eyeshadow in Bone as a base, MAC Vanilla eyeshadow as highlight, Makeup Geek Corrupt black shadow in the crease, Sugar Pill Love + eyeshadow on lid and lower lash line, Wet N Wild H2O + liquid eyeliner in black with MAC 210 eyeliner brush for eyeliner detail work. Ardell false lashes, Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara, Brows Makeup Geek Corrupt Eyeshadow with Anastasia Beverly Hills small double ended brow brush
