Ever wonder what’s in someone’s purse? No? Is that just me? I saw this somewhere else and since I was cleaning out my purse anyhow…
This is my main purse! It is a Michael Kors medium sized Jet Set handbag/tote – apparently this style didn’t catch in and it was an absolute steal at Macy’s after Christmas. It’s big enough to carry stuff but not big enough that I can make it uncomfortably heavy. Here’s a look at what I keep in there!
CamelBak water bottle. Bottled water is for suckers, I own four of these bad boys and I love them. I want one that matches my bag.
Wallet. Duh. Well, I guess with the amount I forget my wallet at home it’s not really “duh…”
JĀSÖN Cocoa Butter lotion, which I basically might as well bathe in. Being a barista is really rough on your hands.
Ipsy pink and black makeup bag which I keep the cosmetics contained in.
MAC StudioFix Powder in NW10
MAC lipsticks in “Syrup” and “O” (which I just swapped for “Pink Fusion” – I always keep Syrup in there, though, because it’s a great backup color)
EOS Honeydew lip balm
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab oils in “Red Lantern” and “Nemesis”
Random pens and a pencil
House keys attached to my Barista Guild keychain/bottle opener
Nintendo DSLite, Legend of Zelda edition (with Link to the Past/Four Swords GBA cartridge in it)
No real surprises, but you all now know I love Legend of Zelda more than life itself and that I’m devoted enough to beig a barista that I have a keychain saying so 😜
What’s in your purse (or backpack, satchel, briefcase, get creative)? Is there one thing you have in there other than a wallet, cell phone and keys that is a complete necessity? Anything that’s always in there that you never need?
I have 2 favorite brands of shoes: Fluevogs, and Miz Mooz. The Pasadena sandals are my 4th pair from Miz Mooz and I’m in love! These were originally around $90 USD, but they’re on sale for about $29 right now on Amazon and I had a birthday gift card. Awesome! These sandals run a half size large, so I got a 7 instead of my normal 7.5. They have a lightly padded foot bed and were surprisingly comfortable for shopping in today. Love them!
I saw my first hummingbird at the feeder today. Summer! Sandals and iced coffee…ahhhhh ❤ I love it!!
I forgot to post this last night – me, 14 years ago in Seattle! I miss having colorful hair, but the upkeep is a B! I still have that belt. I bought it in Atlanta at Junkman’s Daughter in Little Five Points in 1994!
Fall is my favorite season, but I absolutely love spring and summer because I’ve started doing some gardening in recent years. My roses are looking great! I’m pretty proud of them! Last night, we had a big juicy watermelon after dinner, which was pork chops on the grill. That’ll do, summer, that’ll do.
I got home from barista school (yeah, it’s a thing!) today and there was a mystery box from Rachel on the doorstep. Fëanor was stoked. I mean, I was stoked. It was full of makeup because that’s how we do.
Good lord, woman, this is like the entire contents of my makeup drawer! And the cycle continues… There’s a box coming with your name on it, ho. I have to make room!
My favorite way to spend a nice afternoon is curled up in bed listening to some soft music and dozing. Lifelong insomnia sufferer, but my day job as a barista requires I’m up at the crack of dawn more often than not – a few hours of afternoon Z’s are sometimes what I need to keep the momentum. It must work, in the picture the only makeup I’ve got is filled in eyebrows!
Is your “beauty sleep” an important part of your regimen, or can you still kill it after 3 hours of sleep day after day? Do you need your full eight hours, or do you get a few hours and nap later?
This is what I’ve been doing for hours. I can’t stand non-intuitive navigation, so I’ve been fiddling with these menus. Obviously we do not yet have posts on all these subjects and sub-categories but building this framework before we do will save me a lot of “go back and categorize” work later. Looking pretty good! 👍
